Maaya Sakamoto 20th anniversary concert

Today’s a big day, cause Maaya Sakamoto announced she will be performing with Yoko Kanno next year for her 20th anniversary project.

This commemoration live is entitled FOLLOW ME and will take place at Saitama Super Arena, one hour away from Tokyo. For the record, it’s exactly where Yoko Kanno performed the Tanasonic concert 5 years ago!
Yoko Kanno is listed as a guest along with the band apart.

There are 2 ways to get a chance to buy tickets before the public sale:
If you’re a member of Maaya Sakamoto fanclub IDS!, you can enter a lottery starting next week December 5th 12:00 until December 15th 23:00.
The second way is to buy the first press limited edition of Maaya new single coming out in 2015, January 28. You’ll have until February 3rd 23:00 to participate.

Unfortunately, I fear it will be pretty complicated to buy a ticket from aboard…

There was also a tribute album entitled REQUEST scheduled for Spring 2015.

    1. Sure! I’ll share all I know on Facebook! Hopefully I’ll be able to participate in the Maaya fanclub lottery next week! I’ll also try to get extra tickets for those who want to come!

  1. Tribute album “REQUEST” track listing and release date were announced a few days ago. It’ll be a two-disc set, the first with 11 newly-recorded and arranged covers by different artists and a second disc, “ORIGIN”, with the originals by Maaya herself.

9 of the selected tracks are from Yoko Kanno: ‘Yakusoku wa Iranai’, ‘Uchuu Hikoushi no Uta’, ‘Triangler’, ‘Bike’, ‘Hikari Are’, ‘Platinum’, ‘Kiseki no Umi’, ‘afternoon repose’ and ‘Pocket wo kara ni shite’.

I’m excited about the whole album of course, but above all else AKINO ARAI SINGS ‘KISEKI NO UMI’!!!
