Terror in Resonance O.S.T. Notes – Part 2

And here comes the translation of the Shinichiro Watanabe interview about the Terror in Resonance O.S.T.

Entitled In search of Iceland’s fantasy, this interview mentions the reason they recorded the music in Iceland and how was the collaboration with Yoko Kanno, and we learn that this O.S.T. is meant to be the album the protagonist Nine is listening to in the Terror in Resonance anime.

— I learned you’ve been to Iceland at the beginning of April to record your project music. Why was it Iceland this time?

Shinichiro Watanabe: Terror in Resonance is a totally original work, but at the production very beginning when I do the conception from scratch, I always wonder what kind of music will make a good starting point because there are plenty cases where the images come out of the music. This time also at the start, a concept inspired by Iceland music emerged. Continue reading Terror in Resonance O.S.T. Notes – Part 2

Terror in Resonance

Yoko Kanno will compose the score of this Summer new Shinichiro anime.

EDIT: The official English title has been confirmed to be Terror in Resonance.

This new project will be part of the Fuji TV Noitamina programming block in July, 2014. Contrary to Space☆Dandy, Yoko Kanno is this time the sole composer of the project.

The English title has not been officially announced but I’m pretty sure it will be Terror in Tokyo if we consider the URL of the official website. The original name is 残響のテロル (Zankyō no Terror [trans: Reverberating Terror]).

3 years ago, the project Kids on the Slope was also featured on Noitamina.

We can already hear an original music in the first PV in the Facebook post below, and it’s promising! Seems like Yoko Kanno returned to her Arjuna/GITS style.

Space☆Dandy

Yoko Kanno will contribute to some extent to the new Watanabe project Space☆Dandy.

This new anime (katakanized スペース☆ダンディ) will tell the story of an alien hunter named Space Dandy. Remind you something?

A Worldwide simultaneous broadcast began on January 5, 2014 in Japan, USA, Australia, England, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Makau, India and Korea! This is probably the first time it happens!

On the music side, it looks like a bit of a mess. 22 musicians are contributing to the project, and among them lies Yoko Kanno (and also Taro Umebayashi who also works for the label Piano). Everything is managed by the music producer Keisuke “Tommy” Tominaga who also works for Piano Inc.

The music is labeled by Flying Dog who created a dedicated website.

Yoko Kanno is not involved in the opening theme but arranged the ending theme entitled「X次元へようこそ」(X jigen e yōkoso [trans: Welcome to the X Dimension]).

It is performed by Yakushimaru Etsuko and will be released as a single in January 29, 2014:
